Recently, we embarked on an exciting project in conjunction with Steene Associates & Frampton Martin Sage Design. This involved demolishing an old, tired building to make way for a stunning luxury home. The process was not without its challenges, but our team was more than ready to tackle them. With the building torn down, we had a blank canvas to work with, but there was one significant hurdle to overcome: the soft clay ground and the complications posed by nearby trees.
The Importance of a Solid Foundation
Constructing a luxury home requires a strong, stable foundation, especially when dealing with less-than-ideal ground conditions. The soft clay soil beneath the site could not support a traditional foundation, so we decided to go with a piled foundation. Piled foundations are perfect for such scenarios as they transfer the load of the building to deeper, more stable layers of soil or rock.

Our team brought their expertise to the forefront in constructing the piled foundation. We began by assessing the site and determining the optimal locations for the piles, taking care to avoid any interference with the nearby tree roots. The piles were installed deep into the ground, ensuring they reached firm soil or bedrock. This provided the necessary support for the luxury home we envisioned.
