A better way to create piled foundations

RAPID RAFT – An industry-leading alternative to traditional piled foundations

Let's tell you a bit more about us...

Until recently the vast majority of new build dwelling would be built upon either a strip foundation or some form of piled foundation. At Fallon Piling we have been one of the early pioneers of a completely new foundation technique.

Rapid Raft supersedes the need for traditional pile and beam foundation by use of a unique piled raft slab which provides a threefold benefit to the developer/main contractor. These being a greatly reduce construction programme, substantial financial saving and a far more environmentally friendly construction technique

How rapid raft foundation piling works

Rapid Raft Instaltion process

Stage 1

After the piles have been successfully installed and tested, the void former is then placed in formation on top of the concrete working surface which is installed to a tolerance of -/+10mm.

Stage 2

Void former fully installed. This is a proven and effective solution to combat the effects of ground heave on foundations and slabs.

Stage 3

Steel-fixing in the slab. The reinforcement is then installed in accordance with the structural drawings.

Stage 4

After the shuttering has been fully installed, braced and inspected by building control, the concrete is pumped in.

Stage 5

Strike all shuttering from the structural slab.

Stage 6

After 7 days of curing the structural foundation, the slab is now complete and ready for build.

"In all the years that GCS GroundCare has been providing grass and hedge cutting services to Broxted Parish Council, I, as Clerk, have found it to be friendly and approachable, tidy and efficient, and pro-active in suggesting solutions to the problems that from time to time we face. I have no hesitation in recommending it. "

Broxted Parish Council

"After requesting advise from GCS GroundCare regarding a re-design of my rear garden, they submitted a very competitive estimate. I was visited several times beforehand and was given a number of options to consider before committing to a final design and cost, I found this invaluable and gave me confidence in the company. I was given an agreed start date soon after I accepted the estimate. From start to finish I was impressed with the workers professionalism. The work was completed in the very hot weather this summer but the employees would work sometimes until 7pm-8pm making sure they left my property clean and tidy as well as providing me with updates, on leaving, and the next days work plan before they left. At no time did I feel that I couldn't approach the staff with small changes to the original plan. Now my garden is finished I couldn't be happier with the work which has been completed to a very high standard. I would definitely recommend this company to anyone planning on having landscaping."

Linda Smith

We are looking forward to that and will keep you up-to-date on progress. Again our thanks for a lovely “good looking” job. Clean tidy and with no hassles."
